What to wear in Korea during Autumn: A guide for people from the tropics
Planning an autumn trip to Korea, but unsure about what to wear? If you're from a tropical climate (like me!) and easily feel cold, navigating your first Korean autumn can be a challenge. Our guide is here to help! We'll provide valuable tips and essential clothing suggestions to ensure you stay warm and comfortable during your Korean autumn adventure. Bid farewell to shivers and uncertainties as we unveil the secrets to dressing successfully in the beautiful yet brisk Korean autumn.
Be sure to do the following before packing clothes for your trip:
- 1. Rather than just blindly dressing for the season, check the weather forecast for the dates of your trip and adjust your clothing accordingly (temperatures during the day may be very different from the temperatures at night). The wind or rain may affect how the temperature feels like.
- 2. Check the weather in the city you are visiting, Seoul is much colder than Busan.
- 3. Determine your tolerance to the cold, you might need more (or less) compared to other people. A german classmate was still very comfortable wearing tank tops while I was freezing at 17 degrees C.
- 4. Also compare the temperature difference between the city you are visiting and your home country
- 5. Bring some backup cash in case you need to buy warmer clothes
