When to visit Korea to see Autumn Leaves

Fall, Autumn, whichever you prefer to call it, there's no doubt that it's my absolute favorite season in Korea. The sights, the sounds, maybe not so much the smells (if you know, you know). Leaves undergo a stunning makeover, transitioning from their ordinary green attire to a flashy ensemble of Maple reds, Ginko yellows, and a tinge of orange, South Korea becomes a paradise for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.

Come along for this enchanting ride through autumn, where even the mountainsides flaunt their fancy leafy attire. Peaceful temples become the ideal spots for some seriously serene foliage photoshoots or just your escape ticket to nature.

Let's not forget that hiking is one of the most beloved pastimes of Korean ajummas and ajushis. These seasoned hikers, equipped with their colorful visors, trekking poles, and unmatched enthusiasm, will be your companions on the trails, sharing stories and snacks as you ascend the peaks in pursuit of that perfect leafy panorama.

Don't worry if you don't have time to visit the mountains, even the bustling metropolis of Seoul, known for its towering skyscrapers and urban hustle, doesn't escape the enchantment of this picturesque season. Be sure to visit Seoul the last 2 weeks of October as autumn paints its vibrant strokes across the cityscape. Seoul itself becomes a canvas, blending the contemporary and the natural in a stunning display of contrasts.

So, pack your camera, and get ready for a leafy adventure that'll leave you falling in love with Korea all over again!

Disclaimer: This peak fall foliage forecase is based on released Korean sources, and from historical data. However, this is still subject to change. Why, you ask? Well, because we're putting Mother Nature in charge, and she's got a wicked sense of humor. Rains or strong winds might blow the leaves away earlier than usual, or it might take them more time to change color (they might be camera shy).
