Prepare before calling

Write down your current status of stay, its expiry date and the procedure you want to understand. Keep relevant notices nearby so you can describe the issue accurately.

Useful questions include:

  • Which procedure applies to my situation?
  • Where can I find the current official document checklist?
  • Which office handles my case?
  • What deadline or next step should I confirm?

Follow the recorded language-selection instructions. The official guide lists 0 as the option for speaking directly with a counselor.

Take notes during the call and repeat important dates or document names back to the counselor. Ask for the relevant official page or form so you can review the guidance afterward.

Telephone guidance helps you prepare for the appropriate process; completing the required application or report remains a separate step.
