Airfare:

Goes without saying that airfare also varies depending on where you are traveling from. However, it is much cheaper to travel to Korea during Winter compared to the other seasons. For example:

Accommodations:

The cost for accommodations would vary depending on the location, season, and of course the type of accommodations you choose. 

• Low End: You can find cheaper love hotels ranging from 30,000 won to 50,000 won per night if you plan to just stay a few nights. If you plan to stay longer than 2 weeks, but shorter than 2 months, airbnbs are good options.
• Mid Range: It is quite easy to find decent hotels ranging from 80,000 won to 150,000 won per night especially in areas like Hongdae, Myeongdong, 
• High End: If you prefer to stay in nicer hotels with all the amenities, be prepared to spend around 300,000 won and above per night. Areas like Gangnam, tend to be more expensive.

 

How much is Food in Korea:

• Streetfood: 3,000 ~ 5,000 won
• Convenience Store Food: 3,000 ~ 6,000 won per person
• An average meal in Korea: 9,000 ~ 14,000 won per person.
• Shared Meals (like stews, stirfried chicken, etc.): 30,000 ~ 50,000 won for 2 people.
• Korean Barbecue or meats:  20,000~30,000 won per 150 grams and would require at least 2 servings, so be prepared to spend at least 60,000 won.

 

How much do people spend in Cafes in Korea:

• Low End: If you just want your caffeine fix, you can easily find cafe stalls like Mega Coffee, Paiks, or Compose Coffee. Prices range from 2,000 won to 5,000 won.
• Mid Range: Starbucks or privately owned cafes typically sells coffees for around 4,000 ~ 8,000 won
• High End: Korea, particularly in bustling Seoul, boasts a thriving café scene, where premium coffee spots abound. You'll find an array of cafes offering a cup of joe, typically priced between 9,000 to 14,000 won.

 

How much to spend on Transportation:

Airport to Hotel

• Subway: It would typically cost you 3,000~4,000 won if you ride the KTX to and from the airport 
• Airport Limosine: If you are trying to save money but have a lot of luggage, it is better to use 
• Taxi: It would depend on the area where you are staying, but it would cost between 50,000 won ~ 100,000 won to reach a hotel in Myeongdong

While traveling in Seoul

• Subway/Bus: Around ~1500 won per ride (including transfers)
• Taxi: The minimum fare (1.6 km) is set at 4,800 won and increases 100 won every 131 meters. If you are traveling with a group, it might be more cost efficient to use taxis if you are traveling short distances.
