Andong Hahoe Village is a living historic community surrounded by the Nakdonggang River. Its traditional houses, lanes and cultural landscape make it one of Korea’s best-known heritage destinations, but visitors should remember that residents still live there.

VISITKOREA currently lists October–March opening hours as 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission at 4:30 p.m. Individual admission is listed as 5,000 won for adults, 2,500 won for teenagers and 1,500 won for children. These details should be checked again on the day of travel.

Plan beyond the entrance gate

Before leaving, confirm:

• The village’s operating and last-admission times
• Current ticket price and accepted payment method
• Transport from Andong Station or the bus terminal
• The location of the visitor entrance and parking area
• Shuttle-bus arrangements inside the visitor zone
• The day’s mask-dance or cultural-program schedule
• Weather and the final return connection

Allow enough time for both transport and walking. The village is outside central Andong, and the last admission time is not the time by which a visitor should begin traveling from the station.

Wear shoes suitable for uneven lanes and seasonal weather. Autumn afternoons can cool quickly, especially near the river. Carry water, but use designated bins and do not leave food or litter near homes.

Stay on public paths and follow barriers. Do not enter courtyards, open gates or photograph residents at close range without permission. Keep voices low near houses, religious spaces and memorial buildings. A traditional home is not automatically open to the public because it appears in a travel photograph.

Check which experiences require a separate reservation or fee. Seasonal customs, traditional-wedding programs and other activities may not operate every day. Build the trip around confirmed information rather than an old blog itinerary.
