Free Tap Water Testing in Seoul: How to Book a Home Inspection 

Want to check the tap water in your Seoul home? The city’s Arisu Quality Verification System offers free household water inspections by advance reservation.

According to Seoul’s March 2026 announcement, inspection hours extend until 9 p.m. on weekdays and run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. These extended hours began on March 10, 2026. Seoul’s official announcement

How to request an inspection

Apply through the 120 Dasan Call Center, your local waterworks office or the Seoul Water website. The online application is in Korean; look for the quality verification application service.

Have your address, contact number and preferred visiting times ready. Confirm the available appointment and any language assistance when booking.

During the visit, inspectors test five indicators: residual chlorine, turbidity, pH, iron and copper. The city says on-site results are generally available in about five minutes. If a problem is found, inspectors can explain appropriate follow-up measures.

Tell the inspector about any specific concern, such as discoloration or a recent change in your water. Ask how to retain the results and whom to contact if the issue continues.
