Workplace Safety in Korea: Find Training You Can Understand 

Understanding a safety instruction matters more than simply recognizing the words. If Korean explanations are difficult to follow at work, ask for educational materials in a language you understand.

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, known as KOSHA, has produced workplace safety and health materials for foreign workers. Make training relevant to your job

Tell your supervisor or safety manager your preferred language and the tasks you perform. Ask them to help locate appropriate KOSHA materials and explain how the guidance applies to your workplace.

During training, write down unfamiliar equipment names and warning terms. Ask for a demonstration when an explanation is unclear, then describe the procedure back in your own words to check your understanding.

Before beginning an unfamiliar task, clarify whom to contact with questions and how your workplace handles hazards and emergencies. General videos should accompany the instructions and practical training for your actual equipment and working environment.
