A foreign worker in Korea was prosecuted for forging an Alien Registration Card, a serious offense under Korean criminal law classified as forgery of an official document (공문서위조).

The client, whose work visa had expired, was unable to return home due to financial difficulties and family responsibilities. In desperation, he commissioned a broker online to create a forged registration card — though he never actually used it. When the broker was later arrested, the client was also charged with forgery and violation of the Immigration Control Act.
